Getting Started
What is DiddySMS?
DiddySMS is a US non-VoIP SMS verification number service: rent a temporary phone number, receive SMS online or through the API, and pay only if a code arrives. Typical uses: signing up for a one-off app or website without handing out your personal number, testing SMS verification flows in QA and development, and trying a service before you give it your own number. Pick the service, rent a number, and the code appears on your order page or through our REST API.
Is DiddySMS legit?
Yes. DiddySMS is a prepaid, pay-per-number service: every service's price is public before you sign up, you only pay when a code arrives, and support is by ticket or email.
How do I rent a temporary phone number?
Create a free account, top up your balance with crypto, then open Services, pick the app or website you need a code for and click Buy. A USA number is assigned right away, and the code appears on your order page as soon as the SMS arrives.
What happens if no code arrives?
You're not charged. If no code arrives, the order closes and its price goes back to your DiddySMS balance automatically, with no support ticket needed. Credits go to your balance, not back to your crypto wallet.
Can I keep the number?
Not permanently: each order is for one code. After that, you can often rent the same number again from your order history. Depending on the carrier, it usually stays available for a few hours, sometimes a few days. If it's no longer available, you'll see a message and can rent a new number instead. A re-rent is a new order at the service's current price.
Which countries do you offer numbers for?
DiddySMS offers United States phone numbers only, and every number is a US mobile number on AT&T or T-Mobile. Real mobile numbers provide the highest success rates for verification across all major platforms. We are working to add more countries in the future.
What services can I verify with DiddySMS numbers?
DiddySMS supports 400+ services, including social media platforms, email services, messaging apps and online shopping sites. Popular ones include WhatsApp, Telegram, Google, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter) and TikTok. The pricing page lists every service with its current price.
Is there an API?
Yes. Every account can create an API key and use the REST API to list services and prices, rent numbers, read codes, cancel or re-rent orders and check its balance. The documentation covers every endpoint with examples.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. Sign up with your email address and a password, top up your balance, and you are ready to rent numbers. Your balance and order history are tied to your account, so you can pick up where you left off on any device.
Privacy & Security
Is SMS verification with a temporary number secure?
For one-off sign-ups, yes. While your order is active, the number is assigned only to you, and no other DiddySMS user can see the messages it receives. The codes you receive stay visible in your own order history.
Why use a temporary number instead of my real phone number?
A temporary number keeps your personal phone number out of online sign-ups, which means less spam, fewer targeted ads and less exposure in data breaches. Use one whenever you'd rather not share your real number.
Is using a temporary phone number legal?
Yes, renting temporary phone numbers is legal. Virtual and temporary phone numbers are widely used for legitimate purposes including privacy protection, business verification, testing, and development.
Pricing & Billing
How much does it cost to rent a number?
Each service has one flat price per number, shown before you rent. Right now prices run from $0.05 to $1.75 per number. You pay only for the numbers you rent: there is no subscription and no monthly fee.
How do I pay?
Top up your DiddySMS balance with crypto, from $1 to $500 per deposit, and each number you rent is paid for from that balance. You pay per number: there is no subscription and no monthly fee. The balance is for renting numbers and cannot be withdrawn as cash.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cryptocurrency: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Solana (SOL) and Litecoin (LTC). Each deposit must be at least $1 and at most $500, and your balance is credited once the payment confirms on the blockchain.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes, to your DiddySMS balance. If no code arrives, the order expires and its price is credited back to your balance automatically, with no support ticket needed. You can also cancel an active order yourself once 60 seconds have passed, for the same credit. Credits go to your balance, not back to your crypto wallet.
If the code arrives but the app rejects it, do I pay?
If the code arrives but the app then rejects it or says the number is already in use, you still pay; if no code arrives, the price is credited back.
Is there a free trial?
No, but numbers start at $0.05 and the minimum deposit is $1, so you can try one number for very little.
Why are some numbers more expensive than others?
Each service is priced separately, based on the demand for it and how many numbers are available for it, so prices differ between services and can change over time. The price shown before you rent is the price you pay.
Troubleshooting
I didn't receive the verification code. What should I do?
Codes usually arrive quickly, but it depends on the app sending them. If nothing arrives, cancel the order once 60 seconds have passed, or let it expire, and the price is credited back to your balance.
Why was my number rejected by a service?
Some services reject certain numbers, and this varies from service to service. If a number is rejected, cancel the order once 60 seconds have passed for a credit to your balance and try another number, or check that the service is on the pricing page.
How quickly do SMS codes arrive?
Usually quickly, though it depends on the app or website sending the code. The code appears on your order page as soon as the SMS reaches your number. If no code arrives, the price is credited back to your balance automatically.
Can I use the same number for multiple verifications?
An order completes when its first code arrives, and for most services later messages to that number are not collected. To get another code on the same number, re-rent it from your order history or through the API. Depending on the carrier, the same number usually stays available for a few hours, sometimes a few days. A re-rent is a new order at the service's current price. If the number is no longer available, rent a new one instead.
How do I contact support?
If you have an account, open a ticket from the Support section of your dashboard: replies appear right there, and we can see the relevant order without you having to describe it. If you cannot sign in at all, use the email link on the support page instead.
